New Season

It’s March and spring is here. Spring always makes me think of new beginnings, like a fresh start. I mean, think about the fresh flowers that are about to bloom or the bees and birds that are out buzzing and singing. They all seem happy that spring is here because it’s a new season. Some of y’all have already given up on the year, but the year isn’t over yet. This is just the first quarter; anything can happen or change. If you made New Year’s resolutions and you have already slacked off, don’t worry about it. Just get back on track.

We all have setbacks. We tell kids that you can always turn something around or that we can choose to do better. Well, that same advice goes for adults, too. Your kids still have time to pull their grades up and make a change. You have time to get back on track with a resolution or goal. Things may not look the way we want them to, but we can still have a good next quarter and rest of the year. COVID may still be around, and things may seem like the end is hopeless, but it’s never too late to change your mindset.

Did you know that…alligators can’t stick their tongues out? Does that stop them from living life or eating? Absolutely not, and they have powerful muscles that help them snap their mouths shut quickly on their food. As John Wooten said, “Don’t let what you can’t do stop you from doing what you can do.” We may not be able to do everything we want to do right now, but we can choose to enjoy the things we can do.

So, let’s start our new season and second quarter of the year on a good note. It can be a new season of how we think. Let’s start with a fresh attitude and different mindset. Your attitude could greatly affect someone else’s in a positive way. Think about it.

Inspire. Imagine. Instill.
