It’s Black History Month! Let’s spice the month up with some fun information for our kids. Let’s face it, there are plenty of facts for us adults to learn too.
See what fun foods you can try in honor of black history. Did you know that February 4th is Rosa Parks Day? What can you do in honor of Rosa Parks? I think we can come up with something. I mean we can get all creative for Feb 14th, right? We can come up with all kinds of things for Valentine’s Day. So, let’s get creative for Black History Month.
Read some of the profound quotes that were left behind and take heed. Bob Marley said, “The greatness of a man is not how much wealth he acquires but in his integrity and his ability to affect those around him positively.” Are you focusing on the right things? Think about it. A lot of people think about themselves and only them. But if everyone thought like this, where would we be today?
For inspiration and wise words Langston Hughes said, “Hold fast to dreams for if dreams die life is a broken winged bird that cannot fly.” Never let people kill your dreams. Never give up on your dreams. Even if you have to push it to the side for a little while, never give up.
According to Maya Angelou, “All great achievements require time.” Wise words indeed because anything worth having takes time and hard work. What legacy are you leaving for the next generation? Again, we have to think of others because others thought of us.
On a food note… If you love sweet potato like I do then celebrate February 22nd. It’s that time of year again for National Sweet Potato Day. Yum!
Inspire. Imagine. Instill.
